According to Finder, the average UK saver has \u00a319,214 set aside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Someone depositing that amount into Nationwide\u2019s one\u2011year ISA at 4.5 per cent would earn \u00a3860.58 in tax\u2011free interest over 12 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Choosing the three\u2011year fixed rate at 4.6 per cent would generate \u00a32,762.37 over the full term, while the five\u2011year option would return \u00a34,822.23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nationwide said the longer\u2011term accounts are designed for savers comfortable with locking away their money, while those needing more flexibility can opt for variable\u2011rate products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The one\u2011year Triple Access ISA pays 3.30 per cent AER and allows limited withdrawals, while a one\u2011year Single Access Saver offers 3.30 per cent gross.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both accounts drop to 1.05 per cent if four or more withdrawals are made in a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Richard Stocker, head of savings at Nationwide, said the society wanted to offer a mix of higher rates and flexible options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said all ISA products are available in branch, by phone or online, adding that customers can also use the society\u2019s in\u2011app budgeting tool to help manage their money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nationwide said the updated range reflects growing demand for competitive tax\u2011free savings products, with the new rates available immediately across its full network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ISAs allow people to save or invest up to \u00a320,000 each tax year without paying tax on the returns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are four main types of ISA: cash, stocks and shares, innovative finance and Lifetime ISAs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Interest, income and capital gains earned within an ISA are tax\u2011free and do not need to be declared on a tax return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Savers can split their annual allowance across multiple ISAs, although only one Lifetime ISA can be opened each year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cash ISAs typically hold savings accounts or NS&I products, while stocks and shares ISAs can include funds, bonds and company shares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
